Commercial Moving & Installation Supervisor

Premier Office Movers is hiring a full-time Commercial Moving & Installation Supervisor in Columbus, Ohio. You'll lead a crew on site — own the plan for the day, keep the job on schedule and safe, work alongside your team, and be the client's point of contact while the work is happening. This role suits someone with commercial moving or installation experience who's ready to take ownership of the successful completion of every project.

What you'll do

• Lead and supervise commercial moving and installation crews at customer job sites.
• Review work orders, labor rosters, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and project specifications before each job.
• Coordinate loading, transportation, unloading, installation, labeling, inventory, and furniture assembly activities.
• Ensure employees follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and customer expectations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout each project.
• Train, coach, and develop movers, drivers, and installers while monitoring productivity and work quality.
• Complete project documentation, report incidents, and address employee performance issues when necessary.
• Recognize outstanding employee performance and help create a positive team culture.
• Take ownership of the successful completion of every assigned project.

What we're looking for

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Thorough understanding of commercial moving procedures and safe material handling.
• Ability to read job specifications, safety documents, and company procedures.
• Ability to lead crews while working alongside them in the field.

Preferred

• Previous supervisory or crew-lead experience.
• Experience in commercial moving, office furniture installation, warehousing, or logistics.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet DOT requirements if operating company vehicles.

Education

High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Previous experience in commercial moving or office furniture installation is required. Prior supervisory or crew-leadership experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of proper loading techniques, moving equipment, and safe material handling.

Working hours

• Full-time position.
• Schedule varies based on customer projects.
• Regular overtime is expected during peak periods.
• Evening and weekend work is required depending on customer schedules and project deadlines.

Physical requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in active commercial environments.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 100 pounds, with team lifting for heavier items.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Work around moving equipment, loading docks, and moderate to high noise levels.
• Perform all physical aspects of moving and installation work while supervising the crew.

• Hourly pay, competitive with the industry and based on leadership experience and industry background — our average hourly rate runs about 9% above the industry average.
